Revance Aesthetics in Austin, TX

At the Buckingham Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, providers know that the effects of aging can be difficult to accept for men and women alike. Lines, wrinkles and volume loss can all change the way a person looks and feels about himself or herself. Fortunately, advanced injectable treatments from Revance Aesthetics can help.

The Buckingham Center in Austin, TX, offers a series of non-invasive procedures to help patients put their best faces forward and feel better during their middle age years, and beyond, without resorting to surgery. Our providers work closely with Revance Aesthetics, which is why we can offer their newest, most advanced dermal fillers and neuromodulators to our patients.

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR FACE AS YOU AGE?

Over time, your skin and hair undergo age-related changes. Gravity, sun damage, pollution and time all factor into facial and skin aging. In addition, shifts in hormones can cause hair loss, as well as a decrease in the skin’s elasticity and collagen production.

Lack of sleep and stress can also cause wrinkles to form and the eyelids to droop. Furthermore, as we age, we lose both bone and fat volume in our faces, which worsens the appearance of surface wrinkles.

If your skin is looking tired and wrinkled, dermal fillers or neuromodulators might be able to help.

Revance Aesthetics has created a line of products for your face that will make you look alert, refreshed, alive and more youthful.

The Buckingham Center’s providers offer Revance Aesthetics’ products in Austin, Texas, so that men and women in the area can benefit from the best non-surgical rejuvenation treatments available.

RHA DERMAL FILLERS

Wrinkles make you look old and tired, regardless of your actual age. If you are still a relatively young person, then the last thing you want is to look 10 years older than you actually are. RHA dermal fillers are a Swiss treatment that is used to fill in unwanted wrinkles. RHA does not move and bunch up like other fillers, and it stays in place so that your wrinkles remain less visible for months after your treatment session.

RHA fillers are comprised of hyaluronic acid, a biochemical found naturally in the skin. The fillers’ chemical makeup is able to follow the natural facial movements of your skin without frequent follow-up treatments. Nonetheless, you will still need to return to have maintenance treatments from time to time, as is the case with any dermal filler. RHA ensures that your need to return is not for corrective reasons or to boost very recent filler procedures.

After you have had RHA fillers, no one will guess that you are as old as you really are. Since they are intense deep tissue fillers, even older women and men will look significantly younger and more alert.

Your provider or an experienced nurse injector at the Buckingham Center will advise you on which level of RHA fillers you should get for maximum results.

There are three levels of RHA fillers:

  • RHA 2
  • RHA 3
  • RHA 4

RHA 2 and 3 products are for mid-to-deep folds and wrinkles in the face. They are most often used to plump and temporarily erase the lines that run from your nostrils downward toward your chin and mouth (i.e., nasolabial folds).

RHA 4 is a deeper tissue injection that addresses the most difficult of all wrinkles and fold lines.

If RHA 2 and RHA 3 are unable to be as effective as desired or do not produce the kinds of results you and your provider are looking for, RHA 4 may be necessary to achieve the results you desire.

Discomfort with RHA products is typically minor because the formula RHA includes its own local anesthetic. You may feel a pinprick from the injection needle, but then the anesthetic in the product goes to work and you should not feel anything after just a few minutes.

Following treatment, there may be a little swelling. Some slight tenderness may be present once the anesthetic wears off, but these side effects should go away after a day or two.

NEUROMODULATOR DAXIBOTULINUMTOXINA

You don’t have to be a constant frowner to get frown lines. A lack of sleep, dehydration, a decrease in collagen, shifts in hormones and even a lack of adequate vitamins and minerals can contribute to frown lines. In short, your current stage in life can produce frown lines without you even realizing you’ve developed them!

Revance offers a new neuromodulator option for smoothing away deep frown lines called DaxibotulinumA.

A neuromodulator is any substance that changes how a nerve responds or how certain neurotransmitters are released. Neuromodulators are assistive products that help the nerves in your face function differently and better.

When DaxibotulinumA is injected into the facial muscles that are responsible for creating your frown lines, the nerves perk up and suddenly activate the muscles responsible for the frown lines. The muscles lift and stiffen just a little, and the result is a reduction in frown lines.

The results achieved with DaxibotulinumA are temporary. However, due to their effectiveness, these injections are one of the most popular non-invasive, non-surgical options for the treatment of frown lines.

While this is also considered an injectable, it is a very different product and offers very different results from those achieved with the RHA line.

Although DaxibotulinumA is still somewhat experimental, it is considered safe for use with most patients.

The results achieved with DaxibotulinumA injections last longer than those from other neuromodulators do. Therefore, you may only need one or two treatments a year. DaxibotulinumA can be used for other dynamic wrinkles as well, making it the ideal total face wrinkle remover.

Compare and contrast this treatment with the RHA gel filler. In both cases, the material injected will eventually be absorbed by your body and removed through the usual processes of biological elimination. The biggest difference to consider is that RHA is a more natural filler for just the nasolabial folds while DaxibotulinumA is a neuromodulator for use with dynamic wrinkles.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the recovery time like for these procedures?

Side effects of injectables should be mild, and no downtime is required. There may be some reddening or bruising of the skin, but these symptoms should go away after a few days to a week. These side effects are quite common following dermal filler injections. You should not experience any additional discomfort or post-procedural complications because the dermal filler injection process at the Buckingham Center is sterile and safe.

How often will I need to come back for dermal fillers?

That depends on the age of the patient, existing collagen levels in the skin, and the depth of the wrinkles or creases receiving treatment. It also depends on how fast your body processes the fillers or DaxibotulinumtoxinA and removes it from your body. Patients receiving filler or neuromodulator injections for the first time will need to schedule follow-up appointments. These appointments are necessary to determine how frequently you need to return to receive your maintenance injections.

Do I have to have all of these fillers listed, or can I pick and choose?

You can choose which filler or neuromodulator you would like to receive. However, our providers will recommend the procedures that they believe will help you reach your aesthetic goals.

What is the cost for these fillers?

Out of all the cosmetic procedures and aesthetic procedures you could buy, fillers are some of the least expensive. You can expect to pay between several hundred to a few thousand dollars for treatments, depending on the product used and the number of injections required per visit to get the desired results.

Is there financing available?

Several payment options exist to make your treatments more affordable and less stressful. Ask our office staff about them when you book your consultation. We want to make your cosmetic improvements as convenient and affordable as possible.

How do I get started?

Before you can schedule your first injectable filler appointment, you’ll need to book a consultation to discuss your aesthetic goals and health history. The doctor will discuss which of these procedures and fillers can restore your face so that it appears more youthful.
