Nano Laser Peel

The providers at the Buckingham Center for Facial Plastic Surgery offer Nano Laser Peel solutions for patients in Austin and Sunset Valley, Texas. Years of sun damage, exposure to the elements, chemicals, genetics, and the normal aging process can eventually take a visible toll on the skin. Dry, dull tissues can accelerate the aging process and contribute to wrinkles, fine lines and areas of discoloration. While traditional chemical peels have long been an excellent choice for facial rejuvenation, the process can be harsh, meaning the technique is not right for everyone.

However, at Buckingham Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, there is a new kind of peel in town: the Nano Peel. Different from traditional chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments, the Nano Peel involves a precision laser, using light therapy to eliminate damaged skin and restore a youthful appearance. Designed to significantly improve the look of tired, lifeless skin with minimal downtime, the newest addition to the Buckingham Center’s arsenal of cutting-edge, noninvasive techniques is the perfect choice for those patients interested in taking their first step into laser treatments.

The Nano Peel

The innovative Nano Peel, from trusted laser manufacturer Sciton, provides a unique option for patients looking to restore youthful-looking skin.

Using the power of light energy, the Nano Peel targets only the dull skin cells in the stratum corneum, instantly removing the top layer of dead tissue. As these aging tissues are removed, both the skin’s texture and tone are improved, leaving a brighter, fresher, softer appearance in only a few days. Going one-step beyond traditional chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments, the Nano Peel accelerates the skin’s renewal process by activating messenger proteins within the skin. These unique proteins communicate with the deepest layers of tissue, restoring healthy skin that looks beautiful and luminous for months to come.

Benefits of the Nano Peel:

  • A rejuvenating peel without the need to use chemicals or harsh grinds
  • Gently removes the top layer of dry, dull, damaged skin
  • Improves skin texture and tone
  • Eliminates areas of discoloration
  • Restores luminosity
  • Compliments additional treatments, such as Botox or dermal filler injections

The Nano Peel Procedure

Each Nano Peel is performed using Sciton’s Er: YAG laser. This treatment, performed in a comfortable, private office suite, normally takes less than 30 minutes. The skin is first cleaned and then safety shields are placed over the patient’s eyes.

The streamlined Nano Peel laser hand piece will be held above the targeted skin, remaining in place as the one-of-a-kind computer-guided scanner directs the laser beam across the treatment area. While most patients find this technique to be pain-free, our providers can apply topical anesthetics, if needed.

The Nano Peel treatment can be customized for each individual patient’s unique skin needs, with multiple modules designed to address a wide range of correction.

Compared to traditional chemical peels, minimal downtime is required. The treated skin will initially look frosty, as it dries and is sloughs away. Over the next three to four days, mild to moderate redness, peeling, and tenderness will occur as the thin, outer layer of dry, damaged skin falls away. In less than a week, patients will see a fresher, tighter, more youthful appearance.
