Sculptra-Volume enhancement for periorbital and lower eyelid/upper cheek
This patient is a 51-year-old female with a history of consistent use Dysport® as well as filler to the perioral area and cheeks. She presents in clinic concerned with general facial aging concerns. Upon examination, her facial aging is primarily due to the concavities of the mid portion of the face. This is associated with the volume loss in the upper periorbital area leading to exposure of the harsh bony contours. The creation of shadows in the temporal region is also due to the loss of volume and is apparent in the patient’s lateral and oblique before photos. These findings were discussed in consultation and the patient elected to undergo mid and upper facial rejuvenation with a series of injections with Sculptra.
The patient’s after photos demonstrate facial changes that appear very soft and natural. The face is now more heart-shaped which helps to make this patient appear much younger and more rested. The frontal view after photo displays a less harsh, softer appearance. The lateral view shows augmentation to the anterior cheeks which has raised the cheek eyelid junction thereby shortening the apparent lower lid height. The replacement of volume to the temple area is notable in the patient’s frontal after photo and contributes to her overall appearance being more youthful and rested.
