Sculptra-Volume enhancement for periorbital and lower eyelid/upper cheek
This is a 40-year-old patient whom presented in clinic with concerns on facial aging. She has a history of consistent use of Juvederm on her perioral and marionette lines as well as Restylane to her tear-trough area. Upon physical examination, her facial aging is primarily due to mid facial volume loss and prominent orbital grooves. When observing patients before frontal photo you can observe the deficiency of volume on the upper cheek area creating a very harsh bony appearance with multiple abnormal facial shadows. These findings were discussed in consultation and patient has decided to proceed with a series of Sculptra injections as well as repeat lower eyelid filler.
Her results are soft and natural. Notice looking back and forth between the frontal before and after how the jawline looks harsh and square compared to the upper face. In the after photo the shadows are much softer and while nothing has been done to the harsh jaw, by expanding the cheek width the entire face looks youthful, soft and triangular. The jaw actually appears more narrow, but it is in fact not altered. The oblique view really demonstrates the augmentation to the anterior cheeks which has raised the cheek eyelid junction contributing to a more refreshed appearance.
