Festoons (Lower Blepharoplasty)
This 71-year-old female presented to clinic with concerns to her lower eyelids. On physical examination and evident in her before frontal photos, patient was found to have significant festoons bilaterally, more prominently on her left under eye. Festoons are a collection of fluid, fat, excess skin or a combination of the above, beneath the lower eyelids. She elected to proceed with direct excision of festoons.
Notice how her frontal and oblique after photos best show off the improvement to the lower eyelid, giving her a smoother more refreshed and contoured look. Her scars are invisible. Further improvement may now be obtained with skin resurfacing if desired.
