This female in her late 20s sought treatment for persistent fullness under her chin and under eye aging. The patient had previous history of neck liposuction and fat-freezing treatments (Cool-Sculpting) at another medical office but the results were not pleasing to her. Upon physical examination Dr. Frey noted a small, recessed chin and a narrow jawbone were the main reasons her neck lacked definition. She also had a slight underbite. Dr. Frey also noted dark circles and under eye wrinkling. Her neck skin was firm and healthy. To address these issues, she underwent a neck lift (submentoplasty) combined with the placement of a chin implant to provide the structural support her profile was missing. At the same time, she had CO2 laser treatment to smooth and brighten the skin under her eyes. Although she was informed that her naturally narrow jaw would prevent a perfectly "chiseled" look at the back of her jawline, the surgical improvements to her chin and neck contour were transformative. She is now fully recovered and expresses that she is very happy with her more defined and refreshed appearance.
