23 year-old female patient with longstanding cosmetic concerns about her nose and nasal obstruction after nasal trauma as a toddler.
On physical exam, she has septal deviation and narrow internal valve, which are causing her nasal obstruction. You can see how narrow the nose is on frontal view. Externally, she has a dorsal hump with a high radix, a narrow middle 1/3 of her nose and is over-projected.
To address her concerns, we discussed cosmetic rhinoplasty and open septoplasty. On the lateral view, her postoperative photos demonstrate a straight dorsum, and a slightly smaller nose overall after having been deprojected and slightly rotated, together which create a more harmonious balance between her nose and her other facial features.
She is now 4 months out from her procedure and is thrilled with the appearance and is able to breathe so much better through her nose.
