Rhinoplasty
This 17 year old female presented in clinic with concerns regarding her functional issues pertaining to a significantly deviated septum and nasal obstruction. The patient stated she had at least 2 prior nasal fractures. Physical examination indicated she had external nasal deformity with a bony deviation to the left as well as upper lateral cartilage to the left. There was indication of a slight depression the right upper level cartilage. The before lateral photo shows evidence of a moderate dorsal hump. The frontal before photos portrays the boxy, bulbous shape of the tip of the nose. The patient elected to undergo a cosmetic rhinoplasty with correction of the deviated septum.
The patient was very pleased with her results. The internal nasal obstruction has been corrected. The hump has been refined as well as the bulbous tip. This is evident in the lateral after photo which shows the remarkably natural appearance of her nose. The correction of the drooping tip and the straightening of the dorsum are highlighted in the frontal after photos.
