Rhinoplasty
This patient is a 31-year-old female who is interested in cosmetic improvement for her nose. She additionally has a septal perforation, which is a hole from one side of the nasal septum to the other. The hole whistles when she breathes and she has frequent nose bleeds. She has had history of multiple nasal traumas from playing soccer. Her before photos indicate a bony dorsal hump, a wider bridge and drooping tip. She chose to undergo a cosmetic rhinoplasty as well as repair of her septal perforation. The procedure required ear cartilage harvest due to the lack of septal cartilage from the perforation.
The lateral after photos best portray the correction of the dorsal hump and improvement in the tip projection and rotation. The narrowing of the nose if best indicated in the frontal view. The patient’s perforation is also corrected with resolution of her symptoms.
