Facelift, Earlobe reduction.
This 53-year-old female presented in clinic with concerns regarding her lower facial
aging and facial wrinkling; she was also unhappy with her pendulous earlobes. She desires surgical improvement for these areas. On physical examination and evident in her lateral before photo, she had significant jowling and sagging of the neck including platysmal banding accompanied by a mild amount of fatty tissue. Upon review of the frontal before photo she had significant generalized facial wrinkling.
Her hair is unfortunately covering the earlobes in all but the oblique before photo, but they are evident on this view. To address her lower face concerns, I recommended a lower facelift with neck liposuction and platysmaplasty and an earlobe reduction. We also recommended a full face Jessner’s TCA chemical peel 35% for the facial wrinkling. The patient elected to proceed with the Lower Facelift and earlobe reduction alone as her schedule did not allow for adequate downtime from the TCA peel.
The patient is excited with her rejuvenated appearance evident in her frontal after photo. Her new youthful neck line and jawline is demonstrated in the lateral after photo. She now has a smooth neckline and upon review of the after photos ones attention is no longer drawn to the significant neck bands but rather to the patient’s bright eyes. Her earlobes are no longer drooping and aged, now looking petite and youthful.
