Revision Rhinoplasty
This is a 15-year-old patient who underwent a cosmetic rhinoplasty by another physician a year ago and is unhappy with the surgical outcome. Following the initial procedure from an outside physician, she now presents with a significant lateral nasal deformity. Upon physical examination and evident in her frontal before photo she has an over projected tip and a very significant low-placed hypertrophic columellar scar which has thickened that area and caused increased redness. In her lateral before photo you can observe her dorsal hump and hanging columella with scarring and redness.
To address her concerns I recommended revision rhinoplasty and recommended that she proceed with a steroid injection to her columella and BBL (broadband light). Apparent in the patient’s frontal after photos, the elimination of the columellar scar no longer distracts the viewer’s eye. The hanging columella has been lifted. The lateral after photo demonstrates the refinement of the dorsal hump and the adjustment of the hanging columella. Her post-operative photos demonstrate the superior improvement to all of the areas.
