This patient presented to Dr. Smith accompanied by his parents to address prominent ears. On examination, he was found to have prominent ears as well as a lack of cartilage definition. Dr. Smith performed a bilateral otoplasty, or ear pinning surgery, under intravenous anesthesia. Notice on the after photos the improvement in both the projection of the ear as well as the sharpened outlines of the cartilage folds, creating a more natural appearing external ear.
