Lower Facelift
This patient is a 63-year-old male who presented in clinic with concerns due to lower
face aging. He recently underwent knee replacement surgery and lost 25 pounds which as a result emphasized his facial aging. Upon physical examination and evident in his before lateral photos, he had significant sagging of neck skin as well as with a small amount of excess fatty tissue. In the lateral before photo and his before frontal photo significant jowling is apparent. His lateral beard is dense and so therefore he required a pretragal incision. He elected to undergo a lower facelift with tightening of the neck muscle as well as liposuction to the neck area.
The patient is very pleased with his result of a more youthful appearance which is noticeable in the patient’s frontal after photo. The lateral after photo demonstrated significant improvement in the severe sagging of the neck tissue and has provided to patient with an actual neck line as well as smooth jawline that was not apparent prior to surgery. The correction of the heavy jowls allows for a youthful continuity to the entire lower face.
